Everything You Always Wanted to Know About The Site
(But Were Afraid To Ask)
1. Who the hell is Ken?
Ken is a 35 year old Internet developer by profession in Kansas City, Missouri. He's
twice divorced (both ex-wives named Jennifer -- kinda funny, eh?) and has two children.
2. When did the site start and why?
After years of proclaiming that someday he was going to create a site that referenced all of his
favorite and least favorite items on various lists, Ken created KenThinks.com. The site was
supposed to launch in August, 2002 but due to him being lazy, the site didn't ever truly launch
until August, 2006. Better late then never, right?
3. Is Ken as opinionated in person as he is on the site?
Those that know Ken know that he's a very opinionated individual all around. Get him started on
something that he feels strongly about and he'll debate it until you're ready to beat him down.
Initially he's a very quiet and seemingly aloof individual but once he has warmed up to you,
he'll talk your ears off.
4. I've noticed that Ken kinda contradicts himself across his articles. Should I call him out?
By all means. That's why each article has its own message board attached to it so that you
can call him out on things. Also, if you don't agree with what he has to say, voice your
opinion as well. On rare occasion there will be some lonesome soul out there that will agree
with the site's owner... feel free to chime in there, too.
5. Is that Ken's eyeball that ominously stares at me as I read these articles?
Yep, although he didn't intend the eyeball image to look so creepy.
6. Have I seen this guy's writings before? The whole voice sounds vaguely familiar.
Ken and his best friend Scoot (who did the back-end programming on this site) have created
numerous Web sites together throughout their careers. Their most famous creation, The 80s Server,
was started back in the mid-90s and won numerous Internet awards and received worldwide coverage before
they sold it and moved on. It was the first real foray into original Web development for the duo. Ken
did all of the copywriting and concepting for the site as well as gave the site its personality.
KenThinks.com is just an extension of that same voice.
